Post Conviction Matters

A criminal matter does not end with a conviction, dismissal, or acquittal of the charge. Mead, Flynn & Gray represents clients in all types of post-conviction matters, including:

  • Probation violation
  • Parole violation
  • Alternative sentencing programs
  • Expungement

Our lawyers have extensive experience in post-conviction matters, and energetically pursue post-conviction actions in both felony and misdemeanor cases.

Maryland Expungement Attorney

In Maryland, you can have the court and police records sealed for many types of criminal charges and arrests, through the process known as expungement. Record sealing can prevent any employer or future employer from gaining knowledge of your arrest or conviction.

At Mead, Flynn & Gray, we have helped many clients obtain expungements of convictions or arrest records.

  1. If you were arrested but no charge was filed against you Mead, Flynn & Gray can file a Petition for Expungement at the time of the arrest or any time after.
  2. If you are found not guilty or the prosecutor enters a nol pros (dismissal of the charge), Mead, Flynn & Gray can file a Petition for Expungement immediately following the trial with a General Waiver and Release, or after three years from the date of disposition.
  3. If you are placed on Probation Before Judgment, Mead, Flynn & Gray can file a Petition for Expungement three years after the date of the disposition.
  4. If your case is marked stet (suspension of the prosecution) by the prosecutor, Mead, Flynn & Gray can file a Petition for Expungement three years after the date of the stet.
  5. If you are convicted of a nonviolent crime and receive a pardon from the Governor, Mead, Flynn & Gray can file a Petition for Expungement after five years, but not more than ten years, from the date of the pardon.

Expungement is not available in cases involving a DUI/DWI conviction, or for violent crimes. A Maryland expungement attorney at Mead, Flynn & Gray can inform you of your expungement options, and if you are eligible, obtain an expungement for you.
